Resumo: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo descrever o estágio curricular supervisionado realizado no Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU), no setor de Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais, apresentando a estrutura do local, as atividades desenvolvidas e a casuística acompanhada. O estágio foi realizado no período de 2 de março a 29 de maio de 2026, sob orientação do Professor Doutor Márcio Gilberto Zangeronimo e supervisão do Professor Doutor Matheus Matioli Mantovani. Durante o período, foram cumpridas 488 horas de atividades práticas e acompanhados 240 atendimentos, incluindo consultas, retornos e internações em enfermaria e unidade de terapia intensiva. A casuística observada foi composta predominantemente por cães e gatos, sendo as afecções dos sistemas gastrointestinal, geniturinário e tegumentar as mais frequentemente acompanhadas na rotina clínica. O estágio possibilitou o acompanhamento de procedimentos diagnósticos, terapêuticos e de monitoramento hospitalar, além da participação em atividades relacionadas ao atendimento ambulatorial e à assistência de pacientes internados. A descrição das atividades desenvolvidas e dos casos acompanhados permitiu compreender a rotina de um hospital veterinário de grande porte, contribuindo para o aprimoramento da formação acadêmica e profissional na área de Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais.
Abstract: The present study aimed to describe the supervised internship carried out at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), within the Small Animal Internal Medicine Service, presenting the hospital structure, the activities performed, and the clinical caseload observed. The internship was conducted from March 2 to May 29, 2026, under the academic supervision of Professor Márcio Gilberto Zangerônimo, DVM, PhD, and the on-site supervision of Professor Matheus Matioli Mantovani, DVM, PhD. During this period, a total of 488 hours of practical activities were completed, and 240 clinical cases were followed, including initial consultations, follow-up appointments, and hospitalized patients in both the general ward and the intensive care unit (ICU). The observed caseload consisted predominantly of dogs and cats, with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders being the most frequently encountered conditions in the clinical routine. The internship provided opportunities to follow diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient monitoring procedures, as well as to participate in activities related to outpatient care and the management of hospitalized patients. The description of the activities performed and the clinical cases observed allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the routine of a highcapacity veterinary hospital, contributing to the academic and professional development of the trainee in the field of Small Animal Internal Medicine.
