Resumo: Resumo Este trabalho analisa o problema da fundamentação do conhecimento nas três primeiras Meditações Metafísicas de René Descartes, com ênfase na função da dúvida metódica na busca por uma verdade indubitável. Inicialmente, examina-se a suspensão das crenças fundamentadas nos sentidos, aprofundada pelos argumentos do sonho e da hipótese do gênio maligno. Em seguida, investiga-se a descoberta do cogito como primeira certeza e a definição do sujeito enquanto substância pensante (res cogitans). Por fim, analisa-se a teoria das ideias e a demonstração da existência de Deus como fundamento da verdade e garantia das ideias claras e distintas. Conclui-se que, na filosofia cartesiana, a reconstrução do conhecimento depende da articulação entre dúvida, pensamento e fundamentação metafísica da verdade.
Abstract: Abstract This study analyzes the problem of the foundation of knowledge in the first three Meditations on First Philosophy by René Descartes, emphasizing the role of methodological doubt in the search for an indubitable truth. Initially, it examines the suspension of beliefs grounded in the senses, deepened through the dream argument and the hypothesis of the evil genius. Next, it investigates the discovery of the cogito as the first certainty and the definition of the subject as a thinking substance (res cogitans). Finally, it analyzes the theory of ideas and the demonstration of the existence of God as the foundation of truth and the guarantee of clear and distinct ideas. It is concluded that, in Cartesian philosophy, the reconstruction of knowledge depends on the articulation between doubt, thought, and the metaphysical foundation of truth.
