Abstract: The use of photovoltaic energy has been classified as essential for raising the sustainable production of renewable energies. With the strong expansion registered in recent years, there is a current increase in applied technologies, both in solar panels and in inverters and microinverters. Among the main changes, there is an increase in the power delivered by the microinverters. In this context, the objective of this work was to develop a prototype of thermal dissipation, using forced ventilation techniques to observe the thermal performance and efficiency in the electrical conversion process in a microinverter. The experiment took place in the municipality of Pimenta in July 2022, with the execution and assembly of a photovoltaic system composed of eight 530 Wp panels and two microinverters with 1250 Wp each, together with the consolidation of the prototype. There were three collections on different days, one of them with the exclusion of the fan control system. It also recorded data such as the internal and external temperature of the microinverter, voltage, and electric current at the input and output, output power, and power generation in the period in each channel of the device. The system responded satisfactorily concerning the thermal variation, and the measured values of both internal and external temperature over the range at the maximum operating point of the microinverter reduced considerably. There was no significant interference in the energy consumption by the prototype. The energy generation at the end of the day with the ventilation system was the same as the comparison system, and there was no significant variation between the channels of the microinverter itself, whether or not the prototype was used.
