Resumo: O relatório apresentado é resultado do Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso do bacharelado em Agronomia na Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), elaborado a partir do estágio realizado na empresa Minn Kota Ag Products, situada na cidade de Breckenridge, em Minnesota, nos Estados Unidos da América (EUA). O objetivo do estágio foi conhecer sobre a metodologia de trabalho do agronegócio americano, inteirar-se das tecnologias e inovações presentes no país e habituar-se com a cultura americana e língua inglesa. Durante o estágio na Minn Kota Ag Products, que atua em cinco vilarejos com cerca de 1.000 a 2.000 habitantes cada, o autor pôde trabalhar em diferentes localidades, distribuindo suas atividades entre elas. No início do estágio, trabalhou no escritório de agronomia de Breckenridge, onde auxiliou nas relações comerciais, colaborando com a equipe comercial e respondendo dúvidas dos clientes. Lá, aprendeu sobre as regulamentações e normas que regem a venda e uso de defensivos químicos na região, além de realizar trabalhos como tratamento de sementes, entrega de produtos químicos e organização do local de trabalho. O estágio foi transferido para a cidade de Wyndmere, onde as tarefas iniciais foram semelhantes às executadas na fase anterior, incluindo tratamento de sementes, entrega de produtos químicos e organização do espaço de trabalho. Depois, concentrou-se na área de armazenamento de fertilizantes na casa de fertilizantes. No estágio seguinte, o local de trabalho foi transferido para a cidade de Wahpeton, conhecida por seu armazenamento de cereais, principalmente trigo. As instalações antigas exigiam manutenção frequente, e uma das principais atividades realizadas foi a limpeza do local para garantir que as condições de armazenamento do trigo fossem adequadas. Além disso, as tarefas incluíam pesagem, carregamento e descarregamento do trigo nos trens que transportavam a produção para o porto da costa oeste. Com a chegada da safra de trigo, a rotina de atividades mudou para atender às demandas do período. A equipe passou a analisar a umidade e a proteína do trigo, a fim de atender às exigências dos países compradores. A equipe de estágio em Wahpeton mudou-se para a unidade West Terminal, que armazenava soja e milho. As atividades realizadas foram semelhantes às da safra do trigo, com destaque para a atenção aos detalhes na inspeção e manutenção das máquinas. Com a chegada do inverno, a equipe foi responsável pela manutenção preventiva das máquinas e pelo carregamento de trens. O estágio na Minn-Kota Ag Products permitiu aperfeiçoar habilidades e aprender sobre tecnologias modernas na agricultura. A experiência foi relevante para a formação como engenheiro agrônomo, aprimorando habilidades práticas e fornecendo conhecimento aplicado em situações reais. O estágio proporcionou atualização sobre avanços do setor e o desejo de continuar aprendendo e participando de eventos relacionados para enfrentar os desafios futuros.
Abstract: The report presented is the result of the Final Work of the Bachelors degree in Agronomy at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), drawn up from the internship carried out at the company Minn Kota Ag Products, located in the city of Breckenridge, in Minnesota, in the United States of America. America (USA). The objective of the internship was to learn about the working methodology of American agribusiness, learn about the technologies and innovations present in the country and become accustomed to American culture and the English language. During his internship at Minn Kota Ag Products, which operates in five villages with around 1,000 to 2,000 inhabitants each, the author was able to work in different locations, distributing his activities between them. At the beginning of his internship, he worked in the Breckenridge agronomy office, where he assisted with business relations, collaborating with the sales team and answering customer questions. There, he learned about the regulations and standards that govern the sale and use of chemical pesticides in the region, in addition to carrying out work such as seed treatment, chemical product delivery and workplace organization. The internship was transferred to the town of Wyndmere, where the initial tasks were similar to those performed in the previous phase, including seed treatment, chemical delivery and workspace organization. Afterwards, he focused on the fertilizer storage area in the fertilizer house. At the next stage the place of work was moved to the town of Wahpeton, known for its storage of grain, particularly wheat. The old facilities required frequent maintenance, and one of the main activities carried out was cleaning the site to ensure that wheat storage conditions were adequate. Additionally, tasks included weighing, loading, and unloading wheat onto trains that transported the produce to the west coast port. With the arrival of the wheat harvest, the routine of activities changed to meet the demands of the period. The team started to analyze the moisture and protein of the wheat, in order to meet the requirements of purchasing countries. The internship team in Wahpeton moved to the West Terminal facility, which stored soybeans and corn. The activities carried out were similar to those during the wheat harvest, with emphasis on attention to detail in the inspection and maintenance of machines. With the arrival of winter, the team was responsible for preventative maintenance of machines and loading trains. The internship at Minn-Kota Ag Products allowed me to improve skills and learn about modern technologies in agriculture. The experience was relevant for training as an agricultural engineer, improving practical skills and providing knowledge applied in real situations. The internship provided updates on advances in the sector and the desire to continue learning and participating in related events to face future challenges.
